Annual General Meeting
Hello,Before we started our summer break, we mentioned a couple of things would be happening this fall.Halifax Division will be having a General Meeting on October 15th, 2018. GM will include presentations on the financial status, duty reports, membership statistics, other administrative activities, as well as, the election for Executive positions and Assistant positions.Please mark your calendars for October 15th and make every effort to attend this mandatory meeting.The following is a brief outline of what you need to know if you are interested in applying for an Executive or Assistant position:1) The following Positions are up for Election: a. Superintendent b. Deputy Superintendent c. Duty Coordinator d. Training Coordinator e. Stores Coordinator f. Membership Coordinator g. Administrative Coordinator h. Members at Large (2)2) Requirements for people who wish to submit their name for an Executive Position:a. Candidate must have been a member with the Halifax Division for 2 or more years. b. Candidate must hold a current and valid MFR certification. c. Candidate must be a member in good standing having achieved and preferably exceed 60 duty hours in each of the previous two years and have good attendance for training nights. d. Candidate considering applying for the Training Position should be a Certified SJA Trainer, preferably at a level higher than Standard First Aid. e. Candidate considering applying for Superintendent, must submit their interest in the position directly to Provincial Office, care of, Annette Daigle. f. All Executive positions are for a 3-year term.3) The following the Assistant Positions. These are non-voting members who assist the Executive members in carrying their duties. We encourage people to consider these positions as it is an excellent way to gain experience in participating at an Executive level without having to make the commitments associated with the Executive position itself:a. Assistant Duty Coordinator b. Assistant Training Coordinator c. Assistant Stores Coordinator d. Assistant Membership Coordinator e. Assistant Administrative Coordinator4) Application Process:a. Applications for all positions must be submitted in writing (note, requirements for written submission will follow) b.
